About Vex U18s

Vex U18s runs alcohol and drug free parties for under-18s across Australia, at venues including Oxford Art Factory and on Sydney Harbour aboard the Cadman.

We exist to give young people somewhere safe, supervised and fun to go out with their friends.

Venues and councils: host a Vex U18s event

Safety on the night

  • Licensed security at every event, plus our own plain-clothes team spread through the venue watching the crowd all night.
  • Zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs and vapes. Anyone found with them, or arriving affected, is refused entry or removed, and we contact their parent or guardian.
  • Bag checks on entry.
  • Guests must be under 18.
  • A member of the Vex team is on site all night as the point of contact for security, venue staff and parents.

Boat parties

  • Held on the Cadman, a commercially licensed passenger vessel departing from King Street Wharf 3, Sydney.
  • Operated by the vessel’s own qualified crew, including the captain, engineer and deck hand.
  • Life jackets and safety equipment on board for every guest.
  • Safety briefing from the crew before departure.
  • The boat departs from and returns to the same wharf. Guests can’t board once the boat has left, so please make sure your teen arrives on time.

Drop-off and pick-up

Start and finish times are on each event page and ticket. Please organise pick-up for the listed finish time. For boat parties, all guests disembark at King Street Wharf 3.

House rules

Every guest is expected to:

  • Not bring or use alcohol, drugs or vapes
  • Not bring weapons or glass
  • Treat other guests, staff and crew with respect
  • Follow directions from security and crew at all times

Anyone who breaks these rules is removed from the event (on a boat, they stay with security until we return to the wharf), their parent or guardian is contacted, and they’re banned from future Vex events.

Can I talk to someone before the event?
Absolutely. Call or email us any time and we’ll answer whatever you need to know.
