A short must-play list and a few favourite artists give us more direction than a playlist that fills the whole booking. Tell us how you want guest requests handled too.
Have the outdoor details ready
For a backyard party, identify a level, sheltered setup position and ask the suppliers to check the power requirements. Keep a usable covered alternative if the weather changes.

Start with a DJ or ask us to put the full night together.
Venue, sound and lighting, catering, security, a photo booth or a videographer. Tell us what you have already booked and what you want us to organise. We will build the package around the job, not add things you do not need.
Extras are quoted for your event. Nothing is added to your booking just because you tick a box.

Questions people ask
Can you DJ an 18th at home?
Yes. Tell us the suburb, guest count and whether the party is inside, outside or both. Photos of the space are useful when planning sound, lighting, safe access and a sheltered place for the equipment.
Will the DJ take requests from our friends?
Tell us how you want requests handled when we build the brief. The DJ can use your music direction and do-not-play list to keep requests consistent with the night you want.
What if some guests are under 18?
Mention it in the enquiry so the music brief and event plan reflect the guest mix. The organiser should also check the venue's age, supervision and entry requirements. If you need help organising security or a broader event package, tell us.
What does booking a Vex DJ mean?
Your music, your crowd, your occasion. Tell us what you have planned and we’ll take care of the DJ, with a clear quote before you book.
Is a sound system included?
Yes. A standard sound system is included with Vex private DJ hire. For a bigger setup, ask about a premium sound upgrade with extra subwoofers and speakers. Upgrades are quoted separately.
Can we send song requests and a do-not-play list?
Absolutely. Tell us the music you love, the songs that matter and anything you want left out. We use that brief to shape the night, with room to respond to your guests rather than following a fixed playlist from start to finish.
Can you help with more than the DJ?
Yes. Standard sound is included. Tell us if you also want premium sound, lighting, a photo booth, photography or video. We can also help plan a full event package, including the venue, catering and security. Your quote will set out what is included so you can choose the scope that suits your event.
